Baybarsiya mosque, minaret, 14th century. The mosque, patronized by a former slave of Qalawaun, is the oldest standing khanqa in Cairo. Its minaret once towered over surrounding structures. The complex’s waqf document has survived and offers insights into the daily life of 14th-century Sufis.
